History

EGO Translating Company, one of the Russian leading translation services firms, has positioned itself as a full-service translator since 1990. EGO Translating is the only translation business in Russia today offering the full range of translation and subsidiary services.  May 27, 1990  EGO Translating was established. The company started out as a language school, but started a written translation service the same year.  1992  The company launched an interpreting service. 1993  The company added courier delivery and translation proofreading to its range of services. 1994  The company expanded, launching a Customer Service Unit, Development Unit, Technical Support Unit, Marketing and Advertising Unit, International Unit, Temp Office and Notarial Office. 1995  EGO Translating won a tender to become the official translator for St. Petersburg City Hall and the Government of the Leningrad Region. 1996  The company launched a Project Unit, where a team of professional translators, armed with Transit translator’s memory software, turned around large volumes of documentation, technical texts, scientific literature and other material in record-breaking time. 1997  EGO Translating was appointed official translator for the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS, and joined the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and St. Petersburg Industrial Club. 1998  EGO Translating joined the St. Petersburg Entrepreneurs’ Union, the Merchant Club, and the St. Petersburg Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. The company received accreditation from the Permanent Establishment of Moscow in St. Petersburg. 2000  EGO Translating joined the Russian Translators’ Union as a corporate member. 2001  EGO Translating won the high-profile Russian National Olympus Awards in the “Outstanding Small or Medium-Sized Business” category. 2002  EGO Translating was officially recognized as the frontrunner of the translation services market of northwestern Russia. Later that year EGO launched its first regional office in Velikiy Novgorod. 2003  EGO Translating and its President Natalia Molchanova received a medal “In memory of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg” for outstanding contribution to the city’s development. 2004 EGO Translating won the Business Developing the Region competition in the Export category. 2005 EGO Translating was certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 standard.
